Mark grew up in Northampton, England, before heading off to St. Albans to attend college at the age of 18. Leaving with a design degree, Mark moved to Wales and started a ten year career as a canoe instructor, which also took him to Scotland and The Lake District. The design degree didn’t help much !!
In 1992 Mark saw ‘The Amazing Jonathan’ perform on British TV which reignited his boyhood passion for magic. Mark started performing for the captive audiences at the outdoor centre where he worked, which led to entertaining at local schools and parties. In 2001 Mark left the damp buoyancy aid behind to pursue a full time career in entertainment.
Over the last twelve years Mark has gained twelve National and International Awards including:- Four times winner of the International Brotherhood of Magicians Comedy Award 1998, 1999, 2001 and 2004, Stage Magician of the Year 2001 and Close-up Magician of the Year 2002, culminating in his Membership of The Inner Magic Circle and the title of ‘British Magical Grand Prix Champion 2005-2007’
Mark now performs locally, nationally and internationally. From The Orleans Casino and Hotel, Las Vegas to The World Economic Forum, Davos; from The Magic Castle, Hollywood to The Grand Opera House, Blackpool. Mark entertains his audiences with - as decribed by Carnival Cruises - his “unique style of magic and comedy.”
It’s not just land either, Mark works for some of the top cruise lines including: The Yachts of Seabourn, Royal Caribbean, Holland America, and P & O.
Although Mark is a very busy working professional he still has time to relax, and is there a better way of relaxing than playing golf . . . of course there is, ask any golfer!!! It is the most infuriating game invented, but brilliant. Mark is also an avid supporter of Liverpool FC. He has been with them through their ups and downs since 1977. His only memory of that year now is their loss in the FA Cup final to a team who shall not be mentioned by name.
Mark also enjoys going to the movies, cooking and relaxing in front of the TV. Some of his favourite shows include; The Simpsons, Red Dwarf, 24, Lost, Prison Break, Ramsey’s Kitchen Nightmares, The Apprentice and Not Going Out.
Mark now lives back in Northampton with his two cats; Dylan and Louie, four rabbits; Bella, Boo, Spud and Muffin, and a number of fish.
